Has staining, likely due to conditions prior to foster, but we have been told his will grow out over time.Īt the vets, Otto was terrified, but no aggression shown. Has not visited groomer, and has not needed to. Stands looking sad, but is getting used to it. He is okay being handled, having nails clipped, being bathed, etc. Teeth in a worse state than you would imagine for his age – this may be due to him trying to find food prior to coming in to foster – we have seen him eating rocks, etc. Had worms, but these have now gone since flea/wormed. Caution, he does still chew things occasionally, so must either keep monitoring him (cameras, etc) to ensure he is safe or keep in crate / safe area. When it comes to leaving Otto alone we have been building up slowly, but has been left for up to 30 mins with another dog with no problems. We have been swapping for treats to build up positive association, and teaching the “leave” and “drop” Will try to take food from the other dogs given half a chance! Shares toys well, and you can take things away from him without issue. He is currently fed separately due to lack of manners around food. He gets on well with all of our dogs, loves being around them (as you can see from the photos). Wants to be with you all the time, and is likely to stick to the person he trusts / knows. Very comfortable being handled and loves cuddles and attention. The better nourished he becomes, the more his bouncy personality comes out, and therefore new owners should be prepared for an energetic young dog (pointer / spaniel cross) who needs regular walks and stimulation. He is a very chilled puppy, he is building up stamina on walks and therefore doesn’t need a huge amount at present. He lacks manners, but is incredible sweet and willing to learn. We have been working on recall, toilet training and basics (his name, wait, down, introduction to being in a crate, etc (he doesn’t seem to like sit, possibly because of lack of muscle or fat on his rear)), all of which are coming on (some quicker than others!). He has no training, and therefore whoever takes this boy home needs to be prepared as if bring home a new puppy. Otto came in with a group of strays, all thought to be under 2 years old. He is slowly learning to be a puppy, with all the cheeky traits that come with it, and he will make some lucky family incredibly happy. When he arrived, he was exhausted and therefore very quiet and nervous. He is soft mouthed, loves cuddles and the company of the other dogs. He is somewhere between 1 and 3 according to the vet, but you should expect a puppy-like dog. NEUTERED: NO DUE TO AGE AND WILL BE REHOMED WITH A CONTRACT TO NEUTER AND NOT WITH UNSPAYED FEMALES
